FAS Campaign Announcement

IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO PARTICIPATE!

Inspiring Students.  Changing Lives!

September 19-October 26, 2007

Isn’t this what we all are trying to do? Inspire students? Change Lives? Your choice of profession and your commitment to excellence indicate you believe in the difference that education can make. Every year the Faculty, Administrators and Staff of Broward Community College show their support of higher education and our great institution by participating in the BCC Foundation’s Annual Faculty, Administrators, and Staff Campaign. Our goal this year is to increase participation to 350 and raise $64,000 college-wide!

Funds raised will ensure that we can continue to create new opportunities for our students. If you have not already done so, we ask that you consider investing in the Broward Community College Foundation today by making a gift large or small. Consider giving to one of two Funds we are trying to grow:

  • The College Fund - provides general unrestricted support where the need is greatest for the college
  • General Scholarship Fund - provides funds to assist our neediest students as determined by our Student Financial Services Department
  • Or, select a favorite fund from a list of BCC Foundation funds BCC employees have historically contributed to.

Your generosity to help us build upon our tradition of excellence.  If you have any questions, please contact Karen Guy in the BCC Foundation at 954-201-7395 or contact your Campus Team Leader:

Mission of the Broward Community College Foundation

The mission of the Broward Community College Foundation is to support the college by providing advocacy, community awareness and financial support to the college, its students, faculty, administrators and staff.

Like most missions, success is not achieved in a single moment, but with a sustained effort, careful planning and passionate commitment. In making that effort, the foundation focuses on four primary objectives:

  • Raise funds for scholarships that increase access to a college education for full and part-time, deserving and qualified students;
  • Raise funds to fortify a range of academic programs that improve the educational experience of students and provide cultural opportunities for the community;
  • Raise funds that recognize and retain talented and distinguished professors through programs such as the Endowed Teaching Chair and the Will and Jo Holcombe Institute for Teaching and Learning Excellence;
  • Raise awareness within the community of the mission and role of Broward Community College and provide opportunities to support that mission.

How your dollars make a difference?

The overall goal of the campaign is to have everyone participate regardless of the level of gift. There are more than 55,000 students enrolled annually at Broward Community College. Your participation will go a long way to help any one or many of these students. Please consider making or increasing your contribution to the Faculty, Administrator and Staff Campaign. Complete and return your pledge form today.

Your gift can have double the impact!

Because of the State of Florida matching gifts program, your contribution to any BCC Foundation scholarship fund will be doubled.

Your gift of any size will go a long way to:

  • Make a quality education more affordable and accessible for a full or part-time student at BCC.
  • Increase the number of scholarships the BCC Foundation provides to the College.  Last year, more than 2,000 scholarships were awarded and $90,000 was provided for first-time students, who enrolled at one of the campus open-house events, which helped to boost enrollment.
  • Increase the stature, value and prestige of a degree from BCC.  BCC has a proud list of Distinguished Alumni, who have attended our College.
  • Support a specific program, activity or scholarship that will enhance our standard of excellence in the classroom.

Here are some examples of what you gift could help to provide:

$10,000-$25,000First Generation in College Scholarships for 10-25 students

With Matching Funds - One gift has double the impact!
