BCC Baseball sweeps through Southern Conference Playoffs
Earns BCC a FCCAA Tournament berth The Seahawks will now enter the double elimination Tournament Championship in Winter Haven, Fla. from May 9-13.

BCC Advances to the second round of the Southern Conference Tournament behind a strong performance by LHP Robbie Scott Davie, Fla.--The Seahawks shutout the Panthers of South Florida C.C. in a single elimination play in game behind a dominant performance by freshman LHP Robbie Scott (Miami, Fla.). Scott (4-2) earned the victory in 8.2 innings of work while allowing 3 hits and striking out 9. Both teams were held scoreless until the Seahawks plated two runs in the 8th inning as sophomore C Tito Espinosa (Miami, Fla.) hit a one out single to rightfield to plate pinch runner Xavier Feliciano (Fr.-Ponce, Puerto Rico) from second base. The Seahawks picked up an insurance run in the 8th as sophomore DH David Fanshawe (Miami, Fla.) hit an infield single to plate the final run of the game. Although, the Panthers threatened with runners on second and third with two outs in the 9th, Closer Danny Kern (Fr.--Pompano Beach, Fla.) entered the game and struck out the only batter he faced to earn his fourth save of the season.
The win advances the Seahawks to the second round of the Southern Conference Tournament to face #2 Palm Beach C.C. (36-14) in a best of three series.

BCC takes a 1-0 lead in a best of three series behind a complete game shutout from LHP Matt Gilson Lake Worth, Fla.--The Seahawks followed their first round shutout with another shutout by Southern Conference Pitcher of the Year Matt Gilson (So.--Pembroke Pines, Fla.). The southpaw led the Seahawks with a complete game while striking out 9 and scattering five hits to improve his record to 8-2. The offense was led by LF J.J. Jimenez (So.-Hialeah Gardens, Fla.) who finished the day 1-2 with a double, 2 rbi's, and 3 walks and SS John Broderick (So.--Sunrise, Fla.) was 3-4 with a stolen base. The Seahawks impressive pitching has yet to yield a run in the conference tournament and looks to finish off the series on Sunday in Davie.

BCC Sweeps their way to the FCCAA State Tournament after hard fought victory over rival Palm Beach C.C. Davie, Fla.--C Tito Espinosa (So.--Miami, Fla.) bases loaded walk in the bottom of the 6th inning was the deciding run as RHP Jose Mata (Fr.--Miami Lakes, Fla.) threw 3.2 of relief to improve his perfect record to 5-0. Freshman RHP Danny Kern (Pompano Beach, Fla.) threw 1.1 of perfect relief to earn his 5th save of the season. After struggling with the Panthers throughout the season, the Seahawks ultimately overcame their rival to advance to the FCCAA State Tournament. This will be the fourth time in six years that coach Bob Deutschman has led Broward to the state tournament. The offense was led by Espinosa who was 1-2 with 2 rbi's, 3 bb's, and a long home run and sophomore SS John Broderick (Sunrise, Fla.) was 3-4 with a double, a stolen base, and two runs scored.
