A passion for the art of Hispanic painters drives Elaine Miceli-Vasquez, of Viva Broward, to help support the annual art show at Broward College. “This is a way to exhibit the talent in our community,” she said at the opening reception for “The Hues of Cuba, Puerto Rico and Venezuela.” The exhibit, celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month is presented by the Broward College District Board of Trustees, President J. David Armstrong, Jr. and Viva Broward at the college’s administrative art space on the 12th floor of the Willis Holcombe Downtown Center, at 111 East Las Olas Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale. The show runs through November 12.
Elizabeth Erazo Baez is the curator of the show and a painter whose work is also on display. The other artists are German Molino, Hansi Cabrera, Marcy Grosso, Meme Ferre, Natalie Baez and Victor Madero.
At the opening reception a silent auction was held to benefit ASPIRA.
