Early Field Experience

Early field experience involves visitations to an assigned school within the Broward County School system in the classroom of a specific cooperating teacher. In certain cases, students may be placed in a Private school in Broward County and exceptions may be made for students who live or work in Dade County. In order to successfully complete the Early Field Experience within the required timeline, students must have three hours free one day a week between 8:00am-3:00pm, with no classes or work. The days and times will be arranged with the cooperating teacher in order to complete 15 hours by the deadline date. Each session must be a minimum of 2 hours and cannot exceed 7 hours, however, 4 hours per session is recommended. Early field experience will include critical observations and may involve tutoring or assisting the cooperating teacher.
