Q: What are workout clothes? A: Workout clothes should allow for full movement of body parts AND should provide minimal protection to your body. - No jeans or cut off shorts are allowed. Athletic shorts or pants are required.
- Athletic shirts are required. Tank tops/sleeveless shirts are ok--but must be appropriate (as determined by the wellness center staff).
- No sandals or dress shoes are allowed. Athletic shoes are required.
Q: Are there locker rooms where I can change my clothes before working out? A: Yes. In building 10, right next to the wellness center are men's and women's locker rooms with changing areas, restrooms, showers, and lockers. You can use the lockers all semester long, but you must bring your own lock and remove it by the end of the term.
Q: Where can I keep my bags/books/valuables while I'm working out? A: If you don't want to store things in the locker rooms in building 10, then you can use any of the lockers located down the hall in the wellness center. Bring your own lock and remember to remove it when you leave or it will be cut off!!!
Q: Do you provide personal training for students or faculty? A: Some of the wellness faculty are certified personal trainers. Dr. Damian Stanziano holds four (4) national certifications in personal training and strength/conditioning. However, personalized workouts and coaching are not available at the wellness center at this time.
Q: How do I know which exercises I should do? A: Since we do not offer personal training, we are not able to tell you exactly what to do. If you are brand new to exercising, you should think about taking one of the wellness courses offered at BCC. They are HLP1081, PEM1141, and PEM1131. In each of these classes, you will learn which exercises to perform, how to perform them correctly, and how to evaluate your progress.
Q: I lost my BCC ID card. Can I still come use the wellness center? A: No. You will have to go to the Student Life office in Building 19 to get a replacement card.
