FULL-TIME FACULTY (CENTRAL CAMPUS):
Damian Stanziano - Dr. Stanziano is the Program Coordinator for the Recreation Technology and the Exercise Science & Wellness programs. He is also the Director of the Wellness Center on central campus. Dr. Stanziano was recently selected as the Director of the South Florida State Chapter of the NSCA, the leading national organization for strength and conditioning professionals. Last year, he was recertified with distinction for both certifications that he holds from the NSCA (CSCS*D & NSCA-CPT*D). This designation recognizes and rewards extraordinary achievement in, and contributions to, the strength & conditioning and personal training professions. He is also certified with the ACSM (HFI) and ACE (CPT). Dr. Stanziano earned his Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology from the University of Miami, and his research interests include physical function in the elderly, fall-risk assessment, physical testing/evaluation, training and periodization, and strength/power training. Ibis Dominguez - Ms. Dominguez started at BCC in August 2006 as a temporary, full-time faculty member. She got her Master's degree from the United States Sports Academy in Sport Management.
ADJUNCT FACULTY (CENTRAL CAMPUS):
Nancy Estes - Dr. Estes has been teaching for over 40 years at BCC. She has returned from retirement recently to continue doing what she loves. She teaches courses in wellness and in education for BCC and FAU.
John Giordano - Mr. Giordano teaches "First Aid and Safety" (HSC2400) and "Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries" (PET2622). He is a certified athletic trainer (ATC) and serves as the coordinator of intercollegiate athletics at BCC.
Marilyn Gordon - Mrs. Gordon is the only licensed dietitian faculty member at BCC. She teaches classes at the central and south campuses, and is a college-wide favorite among her students.
Jon Groover - Mr. Groover works at the Tigertail Lakes Center. He teaches "Beginning Sailing" (PEN1231), "Windsurfing" (PEN1241), and "SCUBA" (PEN2136). He can be reached at 954-201-4500.
Miles Sonn - Mr. Sonn retired after 27 years as a special agent for U.S. Customs. He earned his master's degree from FAU's exercise science and health promotion program. He teaches everything from weight training (PEM1131) to Walk/Jog/Run (PEM1171) and enjoys a very high-energy, proactive approach to wellness.
Henry Allen - Mr. Allen is the Manager of Academic Services & Technical Support at the Learning Resources Center (central campus). He earned his master’s in educational leadership from Troy University, and completed graduate work in Exercise Science/Health Promotion at FAU. This year, Mr. Allen will sit for the NSCA certification exam to become a certified personal trainer (NSCA-CPT). He is a member of ACSM and teaches "Introduction to Healthful Living" (HSC1101C) at the central and downtown campuses.
Pete Lisman - Mr. Lisman is the other certified athletic trainer on the Wellness faculty. He is a doctoral student in the University of Miami's exercise physiology program. He began teaching at BCC last year and is very well liked by his students.
Karen Munzer - Ms. Munzer currently teaches the "Aerobic Movement" courses (PEM1141). She has certifications in yoga, pilates aerobics, body sculpting, spinning, and aqua instructor. Additionally, she hold a law degree from Nova Southeastern University. In Spring 2007, we hope to offer "Beginning Yoga Exercises" (PEM1121) with Ms. Munzer as the instructor.
Burgess MacNamara - Mr. MacNamara is an alumnus and former baseball pitcher for the BCC Seahawks. He will be teaching "Introduction to Healthful Living" (HSC1101C) at the central campus.
Abigail Mobley - Dr. Mobley earned her Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology from Florida State University. She currently teaches for BCC and FMU.
Patti Rose - Dr. Rose earned her Master’s of Public Health from Yale University and continued on to earn her doctorate at the Teachers’ College of Columbia University in New York. She recently joined the BCC faculty and teaches “Personal and Community Health” (HSC2100) as well as other wellness courses at central campus.
Jennifer Branchcomb - Ms. Branchcomb recently joined the faculty of BCC. She is a certified athletic trainer and teaches courses in exercise science & wellness for both BCC and FAU. She teaches "Introduction to Healthful Living" (HSC1101C) at the central campus. Carol Clein - Coach Clein is a graduate of FAU’s master’s program in Exercise Science/Health Promotion. She is certified with the NSCA as a strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS). Carol is a former football player and currently serves as the associate head football coach at Boyd Anderson High School in Lauderdale Lakes. Coach Clein also holds an MBA degree (UConn) and had worked in the banking industry for 14 years. She teaches "Introduction to Healthful Living" (HSC1101C) at the central campus.
