The Federal Pell Grant program is the foundation for all federal student aid programs. Students must apply through the federal government (FAFSA on the WEB) and the federal government determines eligibility for aid. Funds are determined by income, assets, number in the household as well as other information. The award is also effected by number of credits you are enrolled in each semester.
The Pell grant may only be awarded to undergraduate, degree seeking students who have not already obtained a bachelor's degree.
The Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant is a need-based grant entirely administered by the school and funded by the federal government to supplement the neediest students. This is a federal program and a limited amount of funding is provided by the government each year. Students who are needy and apply early are most likely to receive this award.
The FSAG is a state-funded, need-based grant program awarded to both full-time and part-time students attending eligible public institutions. Awards may range up to $1200 per academic year or as specified in the General Appropriations Act. Students who are needy and apply early are most likely to receive this award.
This federal grant is for students who are pell eligible and have successfully completed a rigorous high school program (i.e. IB or Advanced placement) or have qualified/received Florida Bright Scholarship. Students must maintain full time enrollment and a minimum 3.0 G.P.A. to renew grant.
