Children and Divorce The Parenting Class - Children and Divorce is a four hour court approved educational course for divorcing parents who have minor children. The program focuses on the concerns parents have regarding their decision to divorce, and the impact this process will have on their children. This program will provide an opportunity for parents to learn more effective ways of communicating with each other and make decisions that are in the best interest of their child/children. Using a classroom format, instructors will provide information through lecture, videotape, role playing and discussion. The following topics will be addressed: - The Divorce Process
- The Stages of Grief
- What Children Need to Hear
- Typical Reactions
- What Kids Need to Do to Adjust
- How Parents Can Help
Please register early. You must register and pay at least 4 days prior to the class to receive the certificate of completion in class. All other certificates will be mailed. - Tardiness is not allowed.
- Bring a picture ID.
- Children are not permitted in class.
- No moneys shall be accepted by instructors on the date of the class
- Students must attend the entire class in order to receive a certificate.
- Please check with your attorney about court guidelines and deadlines for filing your certificate upon completion of the class.
