Students, must be a dependent, spouse, or child of a current, deceased or disabled Broward County Law Enforcement officer, fire fighter, or peace officer.
Students must be prepared to submit documentation with their application (E.g.: proof of employment for a parent, etc). |

| The G.W. "Bill" McCall Journalism Scholarship is an annual scholarship designed to help defray the cost of tuition books and supplies for students. |
Eligibility:
- Be a Sophomore with at least 25 credits and a minimum 2.5 GPA.
- Must be majoring in Print Journalism Media, Broadcast or Public Relations.

Although it is not required, we recommend that students complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid online at: www.fafsa.ed.gov.
In order to apply for the scholarship, the applicant must submit the following: |
- A BCC Scholarship Application (please see below).
- A McCall Journalism Scholarship Application (please contact Jennifer Shapiro for the application).
- Evidence of term enrollment.
- Academic transcript.
- Three letters of recommendation from individuals (not relatives) who can attest to your academic ability.
- A portfolio of your journalism achievement.
- A personal biographical sketch with details of your career goals.
