What is the difference between an A.A and an A.S. Degree?
This program is an AS degree—80 percent of the classes are design and only 20 percent academic classes—and is intended to train you to join the job market directly after completing the program. An internship requirement is the capstone class. The AA degree is 80 percent academic classes and is intended for those going on to a four-year university.
Are there a lot of jobs in graphic design?

Yes, graphic design is one of the fastest growing fields, especially in South Florida. Jobs in web design, advertising, iOS design and packaging are new fields of specialization our designers learn.

What kind of equipment do you have?

We have over 35 Apple iMac 27" computers equipped with the latest Adobe Creative Design Suite, Final Cut Pro, Lightroom and Strata 3D software. We also have 30 iPads, and Wacom Intuos5 design tablets for use in the classroom. We have a photo studio equipped with lighting and 25 Nikon Digital SLRs for student use. Printers include an Epson 24" plotter, 17" ink jet, two letter size laser printers, and a Xerox Tabloid size printer.

What student activities do you have?
We have a very active AIGA student chapter, with meetings every week and activities, lectures and events. We have traveled to Boston, Jacksonville and Miami for design workshops and conferences.
What is the difference between the Art Institute and Broward College?
About $30,000. While this may sound like a flip answer, Broward College's cost is underwritten by the State of Florida, and is one-tenth of the cost for an in-state student. We have newer, better equipment and all of our educators have master's degrees and years of professional experience. Broward College is also SACS accredited.
