Broward College's Marine Engineering Management Program is a specialized, comprehensive, and affordable 24-month technical and academic curriculum that will earn you an associate degree and Marine Certifications through the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC).

In addition to the associate degree program, Broward College offers numerous marine certificate programs as well as continuing education and test preparation classes.

Program Details

Broward College's Marine Engineering Management Program is not just a series of shop classes; you will get a well-rounded education that will teach you to communicate properly and be recognized as a respected industry professional.

You will be meeting people from all walks of life, from all over the world. What you will learn at BC will allow you to move comfortably within the marine industry at all levels from the very first day you start working. And the A.A.S. that you will earn will benefit you not just in the short term, but throughout your life.

Broward College's Marine Engineering Management Program is an accredited two-year college program taught by experienced marine industry professionals. At BC, you will learn the practical details of your craft from instructors who have worked on the complicated systems of today's yachts, mega-yachts, and super-yachts.

The Marine Technology Center of Excellence is housed in a 30,000-square-foot facility donated by the BC Foundation. This is where the majority of your hands-on training will take place, which will allow you to master all the skills that are in high demand by the marine industry.

The sophisticated systems of today's yachts, mega-yachts, and super-yachts are quite different. They require highly trained technicians with specialized knowledge to understand, maintain, and repair them. It has created an overwhelming demand for well-trained marine technicians worldwide. Marine engineering jobs are expected to rise steadily through 2020, and the estimated median salary of marine engineers in the country was $80,000 in 2010, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Carl is an experienced technician and instructor. He knows the industry well and takes pride in helping students navigate the admissions process efficiently to get them started with our marine program.

An associate degree in Marine Engineering Management can be earned with 66 credit hours consisting of:

  • 38 Marine and Technical Service credits
  • 28 General Education credits

The program takes just two years to complete on a full-time schedule.

All hands-on training takes place at the AutoNation Automotive/Marine Center. General Education courses can be taken at any Broward College campus.
