At Broward College, you can choose to earn your bachelor’s degree in exceptional student education, middle school or high school mathematics, middle school science, or high school biology.

Your Teacher Education Program instructors are experienced K12 teachers. With their background in education, they are able to share with you the most current and innovative teaching strategies. Your instructors also provide you with individualized attention that will ensure your success within our program.

The college’s diverse student population will provide you with experience in working with different cultures, similar to those you will see in the K12 classrooms you will teach in.  Morning, afternoon, and evening classes for our programs are available on all three main Broward College Campuses: South, Central, and North. We also offer select blended and fully online courses.

Students in the Teacher Education Program will participate in field experiences in real K12 classrooms in Broward County in every semester of their program.

Qualified public school teachers are currently in demand all over the state of Florida. Certified teachers in the critical shortage areas include mathematics, science and exceptional student education (Bureau of Labor Statistics), which are all subjects we cover in our Teacher Education Program.

The Teacher Education Program has over 80 graduates from our five programs and over 75% are currently teaching in their field. Graduates are not only teaching in public schools in Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties, but also in private and charter schools in the tri-county area. Additionally, some graduates have chosen to return to school to pursue a master's degree in education or a content area.
