Focus Areas

The Achieving the Dream program is supporting students who place into at least two developmental classes, including REA 0006 or at least two EAP 400 level classes.

AtD faculty and staff, work closely with these students and help them turn dreams into reality. The goal is to help eligible students complete courses, earn a credential, grow personally and, ultimately, earn better wages to become more productive.

The core courses in the AtD program include:

Developmental Education

Over 80% of our incoming students place into at least one area of college prep. With this in mind, Achieving the Dream is working hard to make Broward College's developmental education one of the most successful in the state. Our goal is to ensure student retention and persistence within all three developmental areas (English, Reading, and Math).

English for Academic Purposes

Broward College is proud of the diverse community it serves. Our English for Academic Purposes program helps those students who are non-native speakers of English by preparing them for the language demands of the college curriculum. Achieving the Dream is collaborating with EAP faculty throughout the college as they discover new ways to equip these talented students with the English language skills they need to succeed.
