Lake Worth, Fla.--The Seahawks followed their first round shutout with another shutout by Southern Conference Pitcher of the Year Matt Gilson (So.--Pembroke Pines, Fla.). The southpaw led the Seahawks with a complete game while striking out 9 and scattering five hits to improve his record to 8-2 and lowered his ERA from 1.30 to 1.16 which ranks him 2nd in the NJCAA.
The offense was led by LF J.J. Jimenez (So.-Hialeah Gardens, Fla.) who finished the day 1-2 with a double, 2 rbi's, and 3 walks and SS John Broderick (So.--Sunrise, Fla.) was 3-4 with a stolen base.
The Seahawks impressive pitching has yet to yield a run in the conference tournament and looks to finish off the series on Sunday in Davie.
