2008 Season Comes to an End at State Tourney
BCC Loses to No. 1 Pensacola CC 11-1
Winter Haven, Fla.--The BCC Baseball team's season has come to an end in an 11-1 defeat at the hands of the Pensacola Junior College, the number one team in the country.

After dropping their first game of the tournament to St. Petersburg College 4-0, the Seahawks were faced Seminole C.C. in an elimination game.  The Seahawks prevailed 10-2 behind a solid start by freshman LHP Robbie Scott (5-3, 3.69) and their best offensive
output of their playoff run.  Sophomore OF J.J. Jimenez finshed the day 3 for 4 and sophomore SS John Broderick was 3 for 5 with a walk off single in the 8th inning to give the Seahawks the victory by the tournament mercy rule of a team being up by eight runs after seven innings.

The third game of the tournament had the Seahawks face a talented Pensacola team coming off of a tough loss to Manatee C.C. that lasted until 2 a.m. due to a sprinkler head being broken by a pitcher for PJC kicking it after allowing the go ahead runs to score.  The broken sprinkler head, which was located right behind the mound, flooded the entire infield and the field crew had to spend approximately two hours fixing the field so that the game could be played to completition.

With a quick turnaround the next afternoon, the advantage looked to be in the Seahawks favor.  However, PJC made a statement early with an opposite field blast by sophomore first baseman Ryan Ditthardt.  Ditthardt would later add a second homerun which would enevitably be the swing that stiffled any thoughs of a Seahawk comeback

The Seahawks complete the season with a 32-18 record.
