2008 Women's Tennis Season Comes to End
| Lady Seahawks 2-8 Overall, However Vanja Mikovic and Ivana Jiraskova reach National Tournament in No. 1 Singles and No. 1 Doubles
|  | Davie, Fla--The 2008 Women's Tennis team completed their season with a 2-8 record overall. Despite their overall record, the Lady Seahawks had some bright spots as freshman Vanja Mikovic (Delray Beach, Fla.) won the state title in No. 1 singles and the tandem of Mikovic and freshman Ivana Jiraskova (Litvinov, Czech Republic) won the state title in No. 1 doubles.
Mikovic and Jiraskova, who qualified for the Women's National Tournament and | competed in doubles together in Tucson, Ariz.
Mikovic made a great run through the No. 1 singles bracket before falling in the semifinals 6-1, 6-0.
As a tandem, Jiraskova and Mikovic lost in the third round of the doubles tournament. Jiraskova's fantastic season came to an end in flight No. 2 singles competition as she finished runner up in states.
