In her first season as head coach of the Broward Community College women’s volleyball team, Caitlin Faulk turned a program from two wins in 2006 to 13 wins in 2007. The Lady Seahawks finished with a 13-12 record and seek more this year as she returns three starters from the 2007 squad. Faulk’s first squad produced six freshmen to earn postseason all-Southern Conference honors. Additionally, outside hitter Kathryn Williams (Fort Walton Beach, Fla.) was named the FCCAA Defensive Player of the Week three times this year. Faulk is a CAP Level II Certified coach by the USA Volleyball Coaching Accreditation Program. Along with her assignment as BCC head coach, Faulk also is director of Thunder Elite Volleyball Club, which is a non-profit organization in West Broward and has been involved with the organization since 2003 when the club was the Weston Thunder. Her past duties have included serving as the club’s head coach for the girls 18s elite team. Faulk’s instruction has helped several of her players receive scholarships to NCAA and NJCAA institutions.
Faulk received a full scholarship to play volleyball at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga. She played right side and setter for the Eagles.
She graduated from Westminster Academy in 2000 and helped the Lions volleyball team reach the state tournament in her senior year. She also attended Olympic Heights High School in Boca Raton from 1998 to 1999 and contributed to the team winning the state championship in each of her two years. During her high school career, Faulk was named first team all-state and was selected to the Broward County Fab 5 team and the National Super 16 squad.
Faulk and her husband, Jonathan, live in Fort Lauderdale.
