Women's Volleyball Assistant Coach

Michael Zarate
 2nd
Year

Mike Zarate joins coach Faulk’s staff after over ten years of experience at the club and high school level.  Coach Zarate is the founder and club director of Ocean Breeze Volleyball (OBV), which operates 16 girl’s teams and two boy’s teams of all age groups.  His mission at OBV is to introduce a “Fresh Approach to Club Volleyball” by being the only club volleyball in South Florida to have both boys and girls teams.  Through Mike’s vision, the members of the OBV use cross training and fitness to promote better overall wellness.

Coach Zarate’s main duties will be to assist in the day to day operations and help organize practice.

Mike played club volleyball for the University of Florida’s men’s team from 1992-1995.  He began his coaching career at Buchholz High School (Gainesville) and for the Gainesville Juniors (18 Elite team) in 1997.  He moved to South Florida in 1998 and has been involved in the club and high school levels ever since.
