The Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses (AMSN) is the only professional organization that is dedicated to fostering excellence in adult health/medical-surgical nursing practice. The mission of AMSN is to enhance the clinical expertise, professionalism, and leadership of nurses caring for adults in hospitals, the community, and long-term care.

AMSN is a collaborating with Broward Community College in sharing educational information about the RN Refresher Online Theory Course. The organization provides the specialty of medical-surgical nursing with an avenue of great educational offerings, from national conferences, to membership in a local chapter, to providing a Core Curriculum textbook for Medical-Surgical Nursing, and to provide a medical-surgical certification program administered by the Medical Surgical Nursing Certification Board. AMSN grew out of a need for medical-surgical nurses to network and become more visible as expert care givers.
