Broward College first opened its doors to students in September of 1960 with a faculty of only 28. As Broward College forges into its second half-century of service to Broward County, it does so as one of the nation's largest institutions of its type, with a reputation for the pursuit of excellence and service to many communities. Broward College now serves more than 68,000 students representing more than 175 countries, and more than 2,000 faculty and staff.

Each year, more than 68,000 students choose from more than 130 bachelor's, associate's and certificate programs. Classes are offered in online, on-campus or blended formats. Nearly one million people have taken a class at Broward college  and more than 120,000 students have earned degrees since the college opened in 1960.
