Located in Building 13, Rooms 128 and 132 for which the purpose is to support all Computer Science courses for the Central Campus. Currently registered students studying Networking, Databases, Programming and other Computer Science concepts may use the labs.
These labs house several different systems, including Windows XP-based microcomputers, Linux and Sun Solaris. The computers support courses such as Computer Applications, Electronic Spreadsheet, and Database Management via Office XP software, and programming languages/environments such as Visual Basic, Visual C++, Java, and Oracle PL/SQL. The Microsoft .NET platform is used to support several of the application development courses.
The department also offers coursework in several high-demand skill-sets, such as AutoCAD, networking (Microsoft and Cisco), A+, Security+, etc. Specialized equipment includes routers, switches, simulators, wireless networking technologies, hands-on computer hardware, as well as computer systems incorporating multiple operating system environments such as Windows 98/2000/XP.
The Unix system uses the latest release of Sun Solaris version 9, which can be found in use by many organizations worldwide. This system supports courses including Unix Operating System, and various programming courses. |    |
