As licensed members of the dental team, dental hygienists provide a variety of preventive and therapeutic procedures that promote good oral health. Dental Hygienists:
- Work chair side with the dentist.
- Perform procedures that aid in the prevention and treatment of gum disease.
- Remove calculus and plaque from teeth.
- Apply fluoride and sealant.
- Take diagnostic radiographs.
- Assist the dentist in providing oral health treatment.
- Provide nutritional counseling.
Provide oral health education to the community.
