Broward Community College confers degrees four times a year, May, June, August, and December. We hold two graduation ceremonies each year. The fall ceremony is held in December and the spring ceremony is held in May.

Instruction for Applying for Graduation:

The first step is to apply for graduation by completing and submitting the Candidate for Graduation Form. One may be obtained at your campus counseling/advisement office. Take the Candidate for Graduation Form to any Cashier's Office and pay the required fee. You may pay the fee on-line, but you must remember to submit the form. This is to ensure that your name will be in the commencement book. The deadline for submitting the Candidate for Graduation Form is April 11, 2008. Submissions after April 11, 2008, will not be printed in the commencement book. Submission of the form in a timely manner also ensures that you will receive your diploma at the end of July.

The second step is to purchase your cap and gown at the Bookstore. The cost will be approximately $34.99 plus tax. You may order your graduation announcements at the bookstore if you wish.

If you have questions about completing academic requirements and eligibility for your degree, you should speak with your advisor.

You will not receive an official diploma or diploma cover at the commencement ceremony. At the ceremony, your name will be announced as you cross the stage. At this time, you will receive a certificate of congratulations.

A professional photographer will take each graduate's picture and contact you within one week of graduation regarding purchase. You may also call the Associate Registrar at the Downtown Center, 954-201-7478, if you have questions about the ceremony.
