FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (November 13, 2013) – Broward College is partnering with the Downtown Fort Lauderdale Civic Association to introduce the Las Olas Holiday Market beginning Sunday, November 17.  The Holiday Market will be located on the College’s downtown campus, the Willis Holcombe Center, 111 East Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, within one block of the successful Las Olas Sunday Market, which is on the plaza in front of YOLO at 333 East Las Olas Blvd. The market will operate from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. every Sunday through the holiday season.

Jointly, the markets will offer food and gift/artisan products from more than 60 vendors at all price ranges. Exhibitors at the Holiday Market will include professional and academic artisans, and community organizations.

“Broward College is an enthusiastic host for the Holiday Market, as it provides an opportunity to enhance community activity and moves toward our goal of being a major participant in downtown Fort Lauderdale vitality,” said Thomas Meyer, dean of the Broward College Downtown Campus. “Our plaza is an extraordinary venue for community activities, strategically connecting the retail and cultural offerings of the downtown area. The Holiday Market also can provide an opportunity for our students to demonstrate their creative and entrepreneurial skills.”
