FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (February 26,
2014) — Broward College will host a “Financial Aid Day” workshop on Saturday,
March 15, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Broward College’s A. Hugh Adams Central Campus,
3501 S.W. Davie Road, Davie, Building 19.
The free event, which is open
to the public, will assist students and parents with completing the Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is the federal
application that is required to receive federal financial aid, including the
Federal Pell Grant and student loans as well as need-based state grants. Presentations
on financial aid, Florida’s Bright Futures and available scholarships will be
held in conjunction with the FAFSA workshop.
English, Spanish and Creole speaking admission and financial aid
representatives will be available to answer questions during the event.
In addition to the event,
Broward College will showcase an array of college-wide programs, including
nursing, aviation, multimedia technology and more. Participants will also be
eligible to win a three-credit scholarship to Broward College, which must be
used during the 2014-15 academic year.
