WHAT PROGRAMS ARE BEING OFFERED?
Broward College has been approved by the Florida Board of Education to offer five degree programs for Teacher Education

4. PDF Secondary Biology
5. PDF Secondary Mathematics

Endorsements: Those who complete the ESE program will be endorsed for both Reading and ESOL.


IS BROWARD COLLEGE AN ACCREDITED INSTITUTION?
Yes, On July 1, 2008, The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACS) approved Broward College to offer the Bachelor of Science Degree (B.S.) Program in Teacher Education

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN "B.A." AND "B.S." DEGREE?
A Bachelor's of Arts (B.A) degree is a humanities based degree. It is designed to provide a balanced liberal arts education and general knowledge in a recognized discipline, interdisciplinary field, or areas of professional study.

A Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree is science based. It is designed to provide a balanced liberal arts education and a scientific, technical, or professional entry level competence.

 

IS FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE?
Yes. The Broward Teacher Education Program is an eligible institution. In addition, we are diligently seeking scholarships and other grants to help students financially. Financial Aid information is included in our application process.

 

IS FIELD PLACEMENT REQUIRED?
Yes. Pre-professional Educators will have to conduct many hours of both guided and structured field placement in a variety of school settings. Additionally, a 50-hour practicum and a 15 week (35 hours per week) internship must be successfully completed.
