Advising and Counseling

Advisors/Counselors are located on each BC campus. They offer a wide range of services that are helpful to both new and current students. Contact an Advisor/Counselor when you:

  • Need someone to explain degree requirements
  • Need help understanding college policies and procedures
  • Want help selecting courses that will satisfy requirements for your academic program
  • Need information and support resources to help you correct an academic problem
  • Want to discuss your academic progress/status
  • Are unsure about whether to drop or add a course
  • Want help clarifying your career/life goals
  • Need short term counseling

You have several options for getting answers to your questions.  Current and prospective students can chat live online or e-mail an advisor, and current students (ones who have already been accepted) can make an appointment to meet with an advisor at one of the campuses or make a cyber appointment if they do not live in Broward County.

Chat Live with an Advisor
For quick answers to general questions, chat live with a cyber advisor between 10:00am - 1:00pm and 3:00pm - 6:00pm Monday through Friday.  Just click on the Chat Now button on the Advising Web Site.  You may also e-mail an advisor on any of the campuses.  Just check the Contact Information area on the advising web site.  Please Note: Advisors cannot access your personal records during a live chat. If you require that level of service, please make a face-to-face or cyber appointment.

Make a Cyber Advising Appointment
There are three advisors who are specializing in supporting enrolled online students who do not live in Broward County with cyber appointments. Contact any of these three advisors and they will make an appointment to meet you live online, using a meeting tool called Wimba.
