Environmental Sustainability at BCC

The mission of the Environmental Sustainability Committee is to...
  ⇒ Coordinate efforts to increase environmental literacy;
    ⇒ Reduce the environmental impact of campus operations; and
      ⇒ Create a culture of environmental stewardship at the College.

Broward College was the winner of the first Campus Sustainability Award from the FACC-Facilities Commission for sustainable practices including extensive board policies and other administrative practices. BC becomes the first ever community college with a LEED Certified building in the State of Florida. Click here to read the award letter (PDF file).

:: President Armstrong Signs the Talloires Declaration

This ten-point action plan for incorporating sustainability and environmental literacy in teaching, research, operations and outreach at colleges and universities has been signed by over 350 university presidents and chancellors in over 40 countries.

Learn how BC's use of e-learning technologies can support a paperless classroom.

:: Energy Conservation = Big Savings at BC

Between 1998 and 2007, BC documented savings of over $7,500,000 through energy conservation.
