Biography Information :
Dr. Lourdes Oroza has been an educator in South Florida for a quarter century. She serves as provost of the Judson A. Samuels Campus -- a thriving campus serving the communities of southern Broward County. Dr. Oroza began her professional life as a high school foreign language teacher in New Orleans, later continuing in Miami. She came to Broward from Miami-Dade College where she served as dean of academic affairs. A native of Santa Clara, Cuba, Dr. Oroza immigrated to the United States with her family at age 3. She graduated from Miami Senior High School, and earned her baccalaureate degree in French from Tulane University, a master's degree in secondary school administration from the University of Miami, and a doctorate in adult education and human resources development from Florida International University. Dr. Oroza has twice been awarded Kellogg Leadership Fellowships, first locally by the Dade Community Foundation's Miami Fellows Initiative program and later in a national competition by the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities.
