Yanelys Rosua was born and raised in Havana, Cuba. She moved to Lehigh Acres, Florida when she was seventeen years old, where she started her junior year at East Lee County High School. During her senior year she was inducted into the National Honor Society as part of the Talented 20 Program, and received the Information Technology Citizenship Award for her Web Design Class. Her love of art, math and buildings led her to choose Architecture as her program of study at Broward College. Furthermore, Yanelys plans to transfer to Florida Atlantic University, where she will continue her studies. She expects to graduate from Broward College with an Associate’s Degree in 2011.
Al of the following drawings were class assignments for Drawing II and III; they represent how light is reflected in different materials. The method used to develop this artwork is known as Chiaroscuro (contrast between light and dark) which gives the illusion of depth and volume in certain artwork.
