      Artist, author, mythologist, and art historian, Dr. Kyra Belán graduated from Arizona State University with a B.F.A. in fine arts, and from Florida State University with a M.F.A. in visual arts. Her Ed.D., from Florida International University, is in higher education and art history. Dr. Belán has had over 45 solo art exhibitions and has participated in over 75 group exhibitions. She has received numerous awards, including the Florida Arts Council’s Individual Fellowship, and her artworks are found in numerous public and private collections. Currently Dr. Belán is a professor of art and art history at Broward Community College, Pembroke Pines, Florida. She also coordinates the art program and is a founding gallery director at South Campus. Author of several articles published in journals, Dr. Belán has also co-authored and authored several books, which are listed below. Featured here are samples of her installations, digital art, drawings, and paintings.
