The Foreign Language Center offers language courses that emphasize conversational skills for business, personal and travel interests. The learner will gain a solid foundation in conversation, reading and writing skills in the specific languages, as well as the knowledge of the culture and customs of the regions throughout the world in which these languages are spoken.

Students will develop basic Spanish conversational skills, such as everyday greetings, numbers, months, and how to formulate

The Medical Spanish for Beginners course is designed to introduce the student to medical language in Spanish. Through varied teaching approaches and exercises, the student will use medical vocabulary to build listening and comprehension skills. The student will learn the parts of the body, how to answer questions, how to give instructions to patients, learn how to express intensions and aspirations,and how to create a dialogue in Spanish between the health care professional and the patient. To support the learning process, the student will participate in role-playing, use audio recordings, and email to review language structures and vacabulary.
