Using the Sharp Multi-Functional Device (copiers/printers/scanners/faxes)
In addition to normal copying and printing of documents and CID reports, the Sharp copiers/printers can be used to scan documents and store them on a network drive.
You will be required to logon on to the Sharp copier/printer each time you use it. You will be able to use your Broward College ID card to logon to the device, by swiping the card, or you can type your normal user id and password using a keyboard on each copier. Your Broward College id card must be registered or linked to the Sharp system before it can be used the first time. After logon you will see all documents you have sent to print and you simply select which document(s) you wish to print.
• Copier/Printer Logon information
It will now be necessary to either login or swipe your employee ID card on the Sharp device before using the device. (This will be your windows login ID)
It will be necessary to register your Employee ID card one time prior to using any Sharp device. It is strongly recommended that you acquire an ID card. If you do not have an ID card, you will need to login to the device manually.
Any time you change your user password, you will be asked to manually logon to the Sharp device and enter your new password.
• Printer naming convention changes
When printing from an Microsoft Office application, a list of available printers will display with the printers building/room location and additional information, such as 31-330-INFOTECH-Canon IR3300
When printing from CID a 4 character id was used to identify the printer, such as Q31D.
The Sharp printers will use a simpler 3 character naming system.
