![]() Ecuador Affiliate Page Broward has two academic partnerships in Ecuador: Pan American University of Cuenca, Ecuador (UPAC) Manuel J. Calle 2-14 y, Cornelio Merchan, Cuenca, Ecuador This institution has had an affiliation with BC since 1995. They offer the AA degree based on Broward courses and credits. Some 300 students participate in this program, many of whom transfer to the US upon completion. It is approved by the ministry of education in Ecuador to offer four-year degrees in business and has recently added programs in political science and banking. Broward College faculty and staff have provided technical support to UPAC staff and faculty in many departments.
BCE opened its doors in Guayaquil in 1985 as a branch campus of Brookdale Community College of Lincroft, NJ. In 2006, the New Jersey institution ended its ties to BCE and in January of 2007, they became an affiliate of Broward. The college offers courses leading to an AA degree at two locations in Ecuador, Guayaquil and in Quito, at the campus of a fine international school, Academia Cotopaxi.
