The Center for American Education of Singapore is associated with the International School of Singapore, a K-12 program which began in 1981. The College program and affiliation with Broward College began in 1986. The Broward program was accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in 1996. Students who earn the AA degree at CAE can transfer to Florida colleges and universities without losing any credits. Based on a Florida Articulation Agreement between community colleges and the eleven state universities in Florida students holding the AA from BC, even if earned in Singapore, will be given Junior status upon matriculation in a university in this state. Students from many nationalities (including the United States) are enrolled at CAE. All instruction is in English, which is spoken widely in Singapore. Students follow a traditional fall, spring and summer calendar and may transfer courses and credits readily to or from the US. Beginning in the summer of 2008, the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL began offering upper division university courses leading to a BA in Business Administration to compliment the AA degrees awarded by BC.
