International Education at BCC
Peru Program

Study Abroad Experience in Peru with Broward College!

Exchange your U.S. classroom for one in Peru.
Discover a different learning and cultural experience.

Students can study abroad for a semester at Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola (USIL), a modern campus located in the La Molina district of Lima, Peru with a student body of over 10,000 students. Spacious classrooms, laboratories, a library, Student Center, cafeteria and an on-campus restaurant all serve to complement the students’ academic program. USIL has a dynamic student population because it hosts international students from more than 90 universities throughout the world through exchange programs. Students may enroll in any of the 22 academic programs USIL offers, which are taught on the Lima campus both in Spanish and English. The program offers students the opportunity to advance their studies, exchange knowledge with professors and local students, gain international experience, and visit a country with many tourist attractions and exquisite cuisine.

Students can also choose to study abroad for a semester or summer at USIL’s international center is located in Cusco, which is in the southeastern part of the country and about an hour flight away from Lima. The city of Cusco was declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 1983 and has a population of approximately 350,000 people. Along its cobblestone streets there are buildings made by the Incas, built entirely of stone. This magical city also has an exciting nightlife with cafes and restaurants to suit everyone’s tastes. Ten minutes away from the city, many ancient Incan ruins, fortresses and other archaeological ruins can be seen. Cusco is also the gateway city to one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, Machu Picchu, which is an amazing stone settlement in the Peruvian Andes and the most important and beautiful legacy of the ancient Peruvians. During their time in Cusco, students will have the once in a lifetime opportunity to visit Machu Picchu.
