NO MORE BORING ESL GRAMMAR/COMPOSITION STRUCTURES!
Yanick has updated her Web site and added course support material to enhance her EAP 0385C (ESL Grammar/Writing III) , EAP 0485C (ESL Grammar/Writing IV), EAP 1540C (ESL Advanced Composition I), and EAP 1640C (ESL Advanced Composiiton II) courses. She has also added sound and video clips to her PowerPoint presentations before linking them to her Web site.

Daryl Miller
MOVING ALONG WITH VIDEO
Using Windows Movie Maker, Daryl edited, added music, and integrated stills for the videos taken on her travels to the Galapagos Islands and Antarctica. She incorporated these into PowerPoint Presentations to support her BSC 1005 (General Biology) course.

EAP 0320C READING CENTRAL
Milagros developed a Blackboard course enhancement to support EAP 0320C (ESL Preparatory Reading). This enhancement included the online grade book, the syllabus, the Web links, and the discussion board tools to deliver publisher content, PowerPoints, Word Documents, and writing prompts.

A TEAM APPROACH USING BLACKBOARD AND SMARTBOARD TOOL
Raymond Dunn and Mary Smith co-created a Blackbord enhancement for their REA 0006C (College Preparatory Reading II) courses incorporating the Class Assignments, Discussions, E-Mail, Syllabus, Calendar, and Web Links tools. Raymond and Mary explored opportunities for using Smartboard technology in their classrooms.

MICROBIOLOGY DIGITAL ATLAS
Using Adobe CS3 Photoshop, Fuad created a digital atlas of all the microorganisms and media to support MCB 2010L (Microbiology Laboratory). Hard copies of these digitally enhanced pictures included the MCB 2010L laboratory manual currently used on North Campus. Using the digitally enhanced images, Fuad also used Picasa software to create slideshows and collages for use in microbiology classrooms and labs.

VIDEO PODCASTING CHEMISTRY
Using a tablet PC and Camtasia, Benoush created PowerPoint slides containing narration. She also created vido podcasts to support CHM 1032 (Chemistry for Health Sciences).

Jennifer will use ScanTron ParTest and ParScore software to create an electronic test bank, assemble multiple versions of exams, score exams, analyze exam results, and print student reports to enhance the evaluation of student learning in NUR 2222 (Health Alterations III)

SPRING INTO LITERATURE AND ART
Using NVU, Pat created a Web site introducing students and the rest of the North Campus family to the English Department's Writes of Spring festival. This Web site promotes program presentations, writing and art contests, featured novel study guide, and themes connected to the featured author's literature. The Web site supports all English classes including ENC 0021, ENC 1101, ENC 1102, ENC 2210, and all LIT courses including Creative Writing and Short Story. The Writes of Spring featured novel is the Winter Term North Campus "read," thus, this Web site will support all other North Campus disciplines to facilitate the creation of "writing across the curriculum"

INTEGRATING TABLET PC TECHNOLOGY INTO BLACKBOARD
Using NVU, Sondra created a faculty Web page; she also created an electronic gradebook. Using tablet PC technology, she uploaded her notes, course handouts, and test solutions into Boackboard learning modules to support her STA 2023 (Statistics) and MAC 2311 (Calcalus and Analytical Geometry) courses.

Using NVU, Halina created a Web site to support MAC 2311 (Calculus I), MAC 2313 (Calculus III), and MAP 2302 (Differential Equations). The Web site included course syllabi, schedules, homework assignments, among other support materials.

Karen created a Blackboard course enhancement to support her NUR 1421 (Healthcare of Women) course. She also created course support materials using PowerPoint, podcasts, and "clicker" technology to enhance student participation in class discussions.

ENHANCING EAP WRITING WITH A DIFFERENT "BLACKBOARD"
Darenda develoedp a Blackboard enhancement for her EAP 1540C (Advanced ESL Composition I) course. She utilized Blackboard's various comminication tools to facilitate student participation in online discussions involving a variety of grammar and writing topics to enhance/encourage student-to-student interaction.

EXPANDING THE TRADITIONAL WHITEBOARD WITH BLACKBOARD
Ellen created a Blackboard course enhancement to support her CGS 1060C (Computer Literacy) course. She incorporated the Course Syllabus tool in addition to Blackboard's Communication Tools to encourage collaboration among students within and across course sections. She also included lab policy documents and podcasts.

OPEN YOUR EYES TO STATISTICS
Mitzi used Camtasia and tablet PC technology to enhance her preview page and present the "central limit theorem" to support her STA 2023 (Statistics) fully on-line Blackboard course.

Mary created a Blackboard enhancement to support her REA 0006C (College Preparatory Reading II) course. Mary created access to practice exercises, assignments, discussions, e-mail and "My Grades" tools. Mary will narrated PowerPoint presentations and included them in her Blackboard enhancement.

USING VIDEO STREAMING TO ENGAGE PEDIATRIC STUDENTS ON-LINE
Linda created pediatric lectures for video streaming featuring voice-overs to support NUR 1310 (Pediatric Nursing). Using Camtasia, she converted PowerPoint slides, created supporting .pdf files, and videos to support simulation labs.
