What is podcasting?

Podcasting enables faculty to deliver syndicated content to students in either audio or video files. The benefit to students is the ability to download this educational content to their iPods or any MP3 player. The content can then be listened to or viewed at the student's convenience.

What are some examples of podcasting at BC?

Professor Mary Diaz has created the ESL Radio and Television Station as a teaching tool for second language leaners. Students create, listen, and critique audio and video podcasts under the model of a broadcast enterprise.

Professor Dominique Charlotteaux is utilizing podcasting to enhance learning in online classes with audio directions for assignments.

Professor Fred Searcy has provided additional lab demonstrations for safety and equipment use in science courses, now available to students as 24/7.

Professor Robert Buford’s “BobCast” is a podcast for sharing events and educational technology tidbits.

Professor Mike Minassian is using his podcasts to support the teaching and learning process for students studying literature.

Professor Sharon Rifkin has incorporated videopodcasting to provide enhanced learning modules and demonstrations for her online wellness courses.
