Student Responsibilities
Since you have been admitted to Broward Community College, you are expected to act as an adult by conducting yourself in a socially acceptable manner. Because an atmosphere free from intimidation and coercion enhances learning, you are expected to observe all local, state, and federal laws. In addition, you are expected to obey specific academic and behavior regulations found in The Broward Community College Student Handbook , the College Catalog , and any other official College publications.
You may be denied admission or continued enrollment if past or present actions have disrupted or interfered with the orderly conduct, processes, functions, or programs of Broward Community College or any other community college or university. While on College property or at College-sponsored events, you will behave in a socially acceptable manner monitored by faculty, administrators, and other staff. Your words and actions will demonstrate respect for the rights and welfare of everyone at the College.
Even though you may not agree with the data and/or views offered in the classroom, you are still responsible for learning the course content. In evaluating the College and its programs, policies, and procedures, you will demonstrate critical thinking skills based on reason that does not compromise the academic climate, mission, or integrity of the College.
Consequences Based on Misconduct
Breaking policy may result in penalties and/or disciplinary action. These may include warning, probation, loss of privileges, mandatory service or courses, suspension, or expulsion. |
