The following are the requirements for admission to Broward Community College. Please read the following instructions carefully, as it will assist you in filling out the application correctly.

Submit a completed international student application for admission.

1. A written history (listing) of your educational background from your first year in school through the highest level completed.

2. Attach a copy of your High School Diploma; or its equivalent, (GED); students who completed high school in the West Indies or Great Britain must show proof of four academic passes in GCE, CXC, BGCSE, or HKCE Certification.

3. If you have attended university, attach a copy of a course by course record in your language and an official translation done by a certified translation service. You must also provide us with a commercial evaluation for all post-secondary education completed outside the United States. The information to have this done can be obtained at J.Silny.com or south@wes.org. High school transcripts do not have to be translated, with the exception of Asian, Hebrew or Arabic.

4. If English is your second language, you must have the TOEFL with a score of 500 minimum on a paper-based test or 173 minimum on a computer-based test. If you are in the U.S. you may take an English Placement Test along with a writing sample which is given in the testing center in place of the TOEFL.

5. Include a bank letter showing U.S. funds available. A minimum of $18,00 USD per year is required

6. A $75.00 non-refundable check or money order to cover the application fee.

7. We require evidence of health insurance through BCC’s approved insurance vendor insure4stu@aol.com or, if using another insurance company, you must provide us with a compliance form to verify equal coverage. Please be advised that acceptance to Broward Community College does not guarantee that you will be granted a student visa in your country or change status in the U.S. (see Visa Requirements)
