Look”
Picture Day, student pictures taken with an African theme background.
AASU is requesting that students, faculty and staff come dressed in traditional
African clothing. (11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 4 - 5:30 p.m. for pictures)
Tuesday 2/25 “Corner or Las Olas & 2nd”
Student Open Mic for rap and other poetry. (2 - 4 p.m.)
Wednesday 2/26 “Feel the Soul”
Several prominent African-Americans will speak on the African-American
experience and history of black consciousness and issues. Also, traditional
soul food will be served to students. (Noon - 1:30 p.m.)
Thursday 2/27 “Get Down with Downtown!”
Local dancers performing step, jazz and interpretive dance. (4 - 7 p.m.)
Ongoing for the Month: A timeline display of black history
in America. A display about African-American inventions. A display about
famous blacks in America and the world. A film festival celebrating black
history month. All will be in the 2nd floor lobby.
