January 15th 2003, Student Government and Student Life welcomed the students
back from a lengthy winter break with a big cup of Joe. The SGA and Student
Life ‘Coffee House’ was a welcomed start to the chilly term
as nearly 150 students filled their bellies with donuts, bagels, mini-muffins,
fresh fruit and washed it down with hot coffee and tea. Upon entering
the HEC, building 33, students were met by different SGA members who distributed
information about the upcoming term and the events that the varying Student
Life organizations had prepared over Winter Break.
As a contrast to the previous year’s extensive Welcome Back BBQ
feast, students were delighted with the simplicity of coffee and morning
treats. As Mike D’Oliveira fittingly put it, “it’s a
great way to start the day and the term!”
