On October 30, 2002 the Downtown Center Job Developer’s office, in conjunction with Student Life, hosted a Job Fair for the students of Downtown Center. More than 30 vendors were on hand, helping students with career goals and/or short term employment, including: Broward County Schools, Sun-Sentinel, Barbazon Modeling, FAU, The U.S. Army, and Carnival Cruises, just to mention a few. The event was wildly successful with well over 200 students in attendance. Gino Galli, DTC’s Job Developer, arranged for a very eclectic group of vendors, places where students could get full-time or part-time work, temporary or permanent positions, internships to further their education, or career opportunities for after graduation. The students had several options. This was DTC’s first Job Fair, and we hope to make this an annual event.
