If you think its scary to look up at the 24-foot high climbing
rock, try climbing to the top and looking down.On the other hand, if you
make it to the top, maybe its best if you dont look down.BCCs Downtown
Center and FAU celebrated its Fall Fest on October 11th in the morning
and early evening on the spacious grounds of its new ultra-high tech Higher
Education Complex.Besides the climbing rock, students ate turkey, cakes
and cookies; learned salsa and other Latin dances; ate some more; posed
for caricatures; and ate still more.Professionals came
to campus to teach about maintaining health and getting and staying in
great shape, safe sex, how to get low cost computers and cell phones,
and personal street smarts. There was HIV testing and unlimited frothy
cappuccino with a sugar stick. There was an abundance of posters celebrating
the lives and achievements of people of Hispanic heritage, befitting Hispanic
Month.
