On April 1, 2004 Student Government Association, the voice of the students, presented four issues that were important to the students of Broward Community College . Those issues included: finding an alternate source of funding to pay for parking on the 7 th floor garage, increasing the number of classes at the Willis Holcombe Center , improving safety, and getting more tutors in the learning resource center located on the 4 th floor.
In order to determine student opinion about the different issues on the agenda, for the luncheon, SGA put together two different surveys; the first was a general questionnaire about the various concerns and ideas involved in improving the campus, while the second focused on students picking and choosing classes they believe should be added to the curriculum selection here the Willis Holcombe Center. “It's important to get feedback from the students because we're here for them, and the only way to get a feel for what they are thinking is to have them answer questions and get their opinions about different ideas we have,” said Alberto Flores, SGA Vice-President.
