SOUTH CAMPUS NEWS

South Campus boasts three new attractions for the 2005/2006 fiscal year:

Each expects to draw audiences from the surrounding community as well as offer a much needed outlet for BCC students.

For the theater, Susan Barnett, Director of Bailey Concert Hall will also direct Theater activities for South. Frank Zapata is the newly appointed Events Manager who will coordinate Theater activities under the supervision of Susan Barnett. Campus personnel have joined forces with community representatives to form a Focus Group to help guide the direction of program performances for the theater.

The Child Development Center has already opened its doors for children to enroll, and classes are expected to begin on September 1, 2005. The Center will be managed by Assistance Unlimited, Inc., and expects to attract interest from the surrounding community as well as from students, faculty, and staff.

Additionally, construction for the new South Regional Library is currently underway. Its estimated time of completion is on or about December 2006.
