As a student in our Nuclear Medicine program, and later as a professional working in the field, a number of tasks, skills and personal qualities will be vital to your success. If you're "cut out for the job," you'll need to: - Enjoy working with patients of all ages, races, creeds and physical conditions.
- Understand the importance of handling newborns, children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics in a safe and productive manner.
- Communicate well through the proper channels.
- Assist in moving patients and have the ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
To obtain a position in Nuclear Medicine the following education is required for Allied Health professionals: - Graduate of an accredited program in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
- Credentials from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologies and/or Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board.
- A current Florida license.
