The PT Assistant Program affiliates with clinical facilities that are located throughout the geographical areas served by both Broward and Edison.  Clinical practicums begin in the second semester of the first year of the program.

Students are responsible for transportation to and from the clinical site to which they are assigned.  Also, any cost involved in transportation and other associated expenses while attending the clinical practicum, are the responsibility of the student.

A student does not have a choice of clinical assignments although every effort will be made to accommodate the student's preference depending upon the individual student's need for a particular type of clinical experience.  Clinical practicum sites are assigned by the Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education (ACCE).  Minimum clinical time obligations are as follows:

PHT 1801L - 8 hours/week for        15 wks        =          120 hours

PHT 2810L - 24 hours/week for   12.5 wks       =          300 hours

PHT 2820L - 40 hours/week for     7.5 wks       =          300 hours
