Respiratory Care Program at BCC

 

 



The respiratory therapy (also called respiratory care) program is located on north campus in Coconut Creek, Florida. This state of the art training facility is filled with the latest in equipment and technology. Along with our dedicated faculty, the student receives excellent training for their career in respiratory therapy.  The respiratory care program at Broward College (BC) is an advanced level 2 year program. Upon completion of the program, you are granted an associate of science degree.

 

The Program requires 76 credit hours for completion.  It is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) through the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (COARC).

The degree satisfies the requirements established by the National Board for Respiratory Care and qualifies the graduate as a candidate for the national “Registered Respiratory Therapist” examination and also the Certified Respiratory Therapy Examination.

The mission of the Respiratory Care Program is to prepare competent, ethical and culturally sensitive respiratory therapists who can adapt to new technology in the delivery of healthcare to all levels of patients in the healthcare institutions.
