If you are looking for steps to completing your Financial Aid, this is a simple step-by-step guide from the application process to receiving an award package.
Begin the process of applying for aid: Fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on the web as early as possible. This may be done online at FAFSA on the Web. BCC school code is 001500.
- List Broward Community College and the Title IV Code in Step Six of the FAFSA.
Remember to fill in Broward Community College as your 'college of choice' to be eligible for all possible financial aid. The school code of Broward Community College (any campus) is 001500. - Receive a Federal Student Aid Report (SAR)
After you submit your application, you will receive a Federal Student Aid Report. It will list the information that you provided on the FAFSA as well as an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) number. This number is used to determine your eligibility. It is based on your dependency status, family income, and other factors. - Complete the verification process by submitting the required documents.
If you are randomly selected for verification, you will be asked to submit the required information to BCC to verify your financial aid status. These documents may include tax returns, citizenship verification, and W-2 information. - Loan -You must have a completed financial aid package before you submit a loan form and complete a Loan Entrance Interview.
Please check on-line to verify your status. You must log on via "MYBCC LOGON" --select "Financial Aid" to view missing documents, award status etc.... You will not receive an award letter in the mail.
If your address or phone number changes at any point during your time as an applicant or recipient of Financial Aid, log on to MYBCC and update your personal information or visit the campus Registration Office.
