If you are looking for steps to completing your Financial Aid, this is a simple step-by-step guide from the application process to receiving an award package.
  1. Fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on the web as early as possible with your most recent completed tax returns. This may be done online at FAFSA on the Web. Broward College school code is 001500 (all campuses).
  2. You will be directed to apply for a PIN (Personal Identification Number) that allows you to sign your application electronically. You will be receive your PIN immediately and will be able to sign your financial aid form and submit within minutes.
  3. Within two weeks, you will receive your Student Aid Report (SAR). It will list the information that you provided on the FAFSA as well as an Expected Family Contribution (EFC).  The EFC is used to determine your eligibility. It is based on your dependency status, family income, and other factors. If you submitted your e-mail address, the form will come via e-mail. Broward College also receives the report electronically and will request additional forms to complete your file.
  4. Check the form accuracy. For corrections, return online and make the changes immediately. Please allow at least five days for Broward College to receive your corrected information. If no changes are needed, retain the form for your records.
  5. Once you receive the form, view your application status to find the additional forms you may need to complete your file. Click on MyBC and log in with your student ID and password. Then choose $Financial Aid.

A complete financial aid file includes:
  • The federal form.
  • All Broward College requested documents.
  • Evaluated transcripts from high school and all other post secondary schools.
  1. If you are applying for a loan, visit Loan Information and Process for additional steps to complete your financial aid package.
